Pg 086: Truck-schooling

Homeschooling

Another family working with our high school program had a 16-year-old daughter who began hanging around with the wrong crowd.  Her parents decided to get this under control before it got bad.

The real hurdle -- mom had a full time job that provided the health insurance and the major income for the family.  Daddy was a contract long-haul trucker.

So, daddy and daughter hit the road.  Books were in hand, the sleeper cab converted to a resource room, and they were on their way for pick ups and deliveries.  Coast to coast for two years.

When she graduated from our program, she spoke at graduation. She said, “While dad was driving, I would read my lessons to him out loud.  We did this for two years, and I am not sure which one of us learned more!”
