Pg 067: Foods for "adults only"

My wife and I had watched many parents fight with their children about eating certain foods. It didn’t seem like it should be that hard, so we tried something different.
When we put certain foods on the table (broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, and others), we told our children these were adult foods and not intended for children.
We kept them from eating these foods for years, and continued to tell them, “Someday, when you get older, maybe you can try it; but this food is not for children, it is for grown ups."
Of course, that created a desire to act grown up, and eventually they ate those foods.
