Pg 043: Teaching vs. learning
Education
At a convention in Maine in 1990, Dr. Raymond Moore presented several workshops. One of the things he said, I have never forgotten:
__“In an educational setting, pay attention to who is asking the questions: If the teacher is asking the questions, teaching is occurring. If the student is asking the questions, learning is occurring."
He went on to say, “Education is not about teaching, it’s about learning."
(Dr. Moore is considered by many to be the “grandfather of modern homeschooling.” He and his wife, Dorothy Moore, pioneered and wrote extensively about their research on homeschooling.)
