On the platform, my children were in chairs with microphones, all by themselves.  They were 22 and 20 at the time.  They did not make any speeches -- all they did was answer questions from the audience of about 500 adults.

One man in the audience asked my son, “Since you homeschooled, didn’t you miss out on a lot of things going on at school?”

My son replied, “I hope so, isn’t that the point!?”

...and the crowd broke out in a cheer!
