Pg 136: Game warden
Education
The game warden knew that John Jones was shooting ducks when it was still dark, while the ducks slept. Totally illegal.
The warden hadn't been able to catch him in the act, but devised a plan. It was a cold November in Maine, but the warden decided to do a stakeout through the night from the bushes. He fought off the cold and shivered all night.
About 4 am, the cabin lights came on, smoke rose from the chimney, and the smell of coffee made the warden quite excited -- he was about to catch his man.
Bacon sizzled and eggs fried. Then about 4:30, John Jones threw open the cabin door and yelled, “Hey warden, come on in and have some breakfast.” John Jones was insistent. Finally, the warden relented and walked inside.
Place settings for two, two cups of coffee, two plates of bacon and eggs. The warden asked, “How did you know I was out there?” “Every morning I throw open the cabin door and invite you in. This morning, I was as surprised as you were."
