One of the criticisms leveled against homeschoolers is lack of qualification. How can homeschool parents be effective teachers if they aren’t certified?

 

Well, someone once quipped, “Possession of a teaching certificate guarantees success at about the same rate as possession of a marriage certificate!"

 

Our public school teachers are trained, interviewed, tested, fingerprinted, background checked, interviewed again, and eventually hired by their peers. Even with all these qualifications, bad teachers take charge of classrooms and stay there for decades. And we pay them with our public money.

 

Some are bad teachers, some are bad people who do bad things to our children in the schools, they do bad things to our teens, and they do them under the noses of those same peers who hired them.

 

Qualifications didn’t seem to help.
