Pg 039: Want to sell them all?
Parenting
When we began working with homeschoolers back in the 1980’s, it was difficult to get textbooks for families. Publishers were not interested and some were actually hostile to homeschoolers.
So, we began going to schools and buying used textbooks, selling them to homeschoolers. Eventually, we bought used textbooks from other homeschoolers.
On one occasion, I was buying a family’s used textbooks. I went to the lady’s car, and stood at the back of her minivan while she opened the back hatch. Boxes and boxes of books were behind that back seat, and her six children were all talking in their seats.
I looked in at all those boxes; I asked, “Do you want to sell them all?” She said, “Yes, except for the newborn!”
