Pg 097: Government is good at...

Homeschooling

The government is good at some things:  it protects our country pretty well, it builds and maintains a pretty good highway system, and I am sure there are a few other things government does well.

It doesn’t do such a good job at building and maintaining public housing.

It doesn’t do such a good job at creating and controlling public employees.

It doesn’t do such a good job at building and maintaining public schools.

I saw this US Census Department statistic:
In 1930, Harlem had an illiteracy rate of 9%.
       In 1980, Harlem's illiteracy was 50%.

All that money.  All those schools.  All those teachers.  All those resources.

What happened?
